Qualifications from South African universities and TVET colleges are usually acknowledged by the relevant Australian authorities, though a formal skills assessment is still on the cards. Plus, your South African driver's license can be swapped out in most Aussie states with minimal hassle.

If you’ve got a job offer from an Aussie employer, the employer-sponsored route skips the points game altogether. The 482 TSS visa is the usual choice — and it can lead to permanent residency with the 186 visa after three years with the same employer.
