What Should You Expect?
Bluntly, if you're not getting regular updates from your immigration consultant or lawyer, there's reason to be concerned. In our experience, communication is key. You should at least have a receipt for any money you've paid and some confirmation that your application has been submitted. Many applicants get a Unique Client Identifier (UCI) or some form of login information within a few weeks of submission - it lets you track your application progress.
Photo Size and Other Application Hiccups
A snag with photo size isn’t uncommon. But here's where we disagree with letting that halt your entire process for months. If your consultant flags a photo issue, it should be something you rectify quickly. In our experience, a problem like this shouldn't be an excuse for months of silence.
