As part of their strategy for a better future, Scott Morrison and the Australian Government are making substantial steps in addressing skill shortages, promoting innovation, and attracting investment in the 2022-23 Budget.
The most important statement was that the Permanent Migration Program will be set to 160,000 places in 2022-23.
The Morrison Government's Migration Program will emphasise skilled migration, with a restoration to pre-pandemic composition across the Skill and Family streams.
The Skill stream will grow to 109,900 positions, more than 30,000 higher than the 2021-22 projected levels.
Employer Sponsored (30,000 places), Skilled Independent (16,652 places), and State & Territory Nominated (20,000 places) have all been boosted from the 2021-22 planned levels under the Skill Stream.
Regional visas will more than double to 25,000 places to promote regional Australia's growth.
The categories of Business Innovation and Investment (9,500 places), Global Talent (8,448 places), and Distinguished Talent (300 places) will guarantee that Australia remains a popular destination for the world's finest and brightest individuals and businesses.
Based on advice from the National Skills Commission, occupation listings will be reviewed and modified in early 2022-23 to reflect changes in Australia's labour market.
With this news, it is undeniably an exciting moment to begin planning your Australian migration to join the growing number of professionals migrating to Australia.
