Mondli Gungubele, Minister in the Presidency, confirmed on Thursday that Cabinet has decided not to renew Zimbabwean Special Dispensation Permits.
Gungubele stated that the Cabinet decided on a 12-month grace period when the current ZEP expires.
During the grace period, holders of this permit should apply for "other permits appropriate to their particular status or situation," according to the Minister. Gungubele stated that the Cabinet decided on a 12-month grace period when the current ZEP expires.
“At the expiry of this 12-month period, those who are not successful will have to leave South Africa or be deported,” he said.
