About the Role:
Our client is currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team at a busy meat processing facility in Perth. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on processing machinery and related eq
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to maintain optimal production output.
- Carry out mechanical fitting, welding, and basic fabrication work.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery.
- Adhere to workplace health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Trade Qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within meat processing, food manufacturing, or FMCG industries.
- Solid mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding/fabrication skills are an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to work on a rotating roster or respond to breakdowns as needed.
Benefits:
- $48.27 + shift allowance
- Shift allowances are as follows:
- ○9% for day shifts
- ○15% for day-night rotating shifts
- The roster is a 7-day fortnight, working 42 hours per week across 12-hour day and night shifts
