Express Entry is a point-based system that leads to direct Permanent Residency. In 2015 the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced the application management system that can manage, and process applications received for Canada’s federal economic immigration programs for skilled individuals. Express Entry is a 2-stage process that can take anywhere from 8 to 14 months in total.
Comprehensive Ranking System
This system provides a guideline to calculate your score based on age, level of education, work experience as well as English or French capabilities, among other factors these will determine your rank within the pooling system.
Express Entry Stage 1 | Express Entry Pool
In the first stage of the application process, we focus on document collection as well as your qualification assessment and language proficiency. Completing an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) will allow your qualification/s to be assessed and the Canadian equivalency thereof established. Once all the documentation is collected, your application will be submitted into a pooling system where your score will rank you or your household against other applicants.
Express Entry Stage 2 | Invitation To Apply (ITA)
Every 2-3 weeks the IRCC will extract the highest scoring applicants from the Express Entry pool and issue the application with an ITA. This ITA allows us to apply for direct Permanent Residency. It is at this point of the application process that all documentation is submitted to demonstrate you have claimed the correct points in your initial application.
Processing Times
The processing times for each application will differ as no application is the same. The current processing time once we have submitted your final application is at 6 months, however, this can fluctuate between 4 -10 months.
Government Fees
These are IRCC fees that must be paid upon submission of your final Permanent Residency application. Not all fees are required upfront, the Right To Permanent Residency fee/s (RPRF) can be paid 1-3 months after submission. All fees are paid in Canadian Dollars (CAD$)
