This visa is to allow you to travel to Australia to marry your Fiance/Prospective Spouse. It is a temporary visa that allows you to travel to Australia and marry within 9 months.
Please note that one must be outside of Australia when you apply and also when the Prospective Marriage visa Subclass 300 is granted. You are however able to have your wedding in any country and it does not necessarily need to be held in Australia.
After you are married and within the 9 months, you will need to apply for a Spousal Permit which has an indefinite validity period.
This Visa Allows you to:
Travel to Australia before you marry your prospective spouse. You are able to travel in an out of Australia as often as you want as this is a multiple entry visa. You will be able work and study in Australia. When studying in Australia, you will however not receive access to government funding until you have applied for and been granted Permanent Residence.
You will be able to apply for a Partner visa in Australia once you have married you partner.
